From Studio Portmanteau
Matchbox contains about (16) 2" long white-tipped safety matches. A standard striker strip is located on the right hand side. As always, well-designed and well-crafted.
Studio Portmanteau is happily based out of Jessica's home studio in Oregon's gorgeous Rogue Valley. Each product sold in her shop is a one-of-a-kind creation designed and made by her in the Pacific Northwest. Most of her items are hand-pressed with metal dies on a vintage foil stamper that is the mainstay of the studio.
A passion for the simple things in life - stargazing, beachcombing, gardening, reading, cooking, the great outdoors - plus a fascination with tiny things and an obsession with all things golden led to the idea behind this design studio specializing in matchboxes, and more recently delving into a broader range of other thoughtful objects for the home and special occasions. As a lover of all things vintage, Jessica sees the matchbox itself as a tiny little piece of a bygone era that still resonates with us today and reminds us to sit down, light a candle, and spend the evening catching up with friends or devouring a good book. She loves bringing materials to life with her unique perspective as a trained designer, intrepid explorer, and avid maker.
