Illustrated by Spencer Hawkes, in Portland, OR. From the artist: Nomad Patches accidentally started in 2015 when I ended up with extra patches after a family bike tour. I had made a design but had trouble finding a manufacturer that would produce just 9 (the size of our caravan of bike tourers) so I placed an order for 50 and figured I'd give away the rest. It wasn't hard giving them away, and pretty soon I needed to order more! I started an online shop and slowly began adding designs.
Every patch I design is inspired by an adventure I've had. They tell stories and they wear out with the bags and jackets they're on as they travel all over the world. Seeing a backpack covered in patches is like seeing an old map with pencil notes, dirt stains and creases, a record of places it has been. I hope Nomad Patches inspire adventure wherever they travel.
